Public Service Announcement || The Provincial Veterinary Office Encourages Nortehanon to strictly implement Bio-Security to contain ASF
Despite the negative mortality cases reported by ASF Program Coordinator, Dr. Faith C. Tenedero, this February following the emergence of three cases last month, the Diseases Investigation Team conducted zero surveillance to detect the spread of the virus and implement the 500-meter radius. According to the reports of the disease investigation team and affected farmers, the outbreak originated when livestock were fed swill feeds “sagmaw”.
All pork products and livestock entering the province undergo thorough quarantine checks before transportation, ensuring they are free from ASF. Although there have been no reports this month, the Provincial Government urges people to report any sudden hog deaths to their municipal veterinary offices to contain the virus effectively.
